Create Your Own Happiness and Success
How to start thinking
WARNING!
The following Hub uses sarcasm to put across a point. Some people may be offended, some may even find it useful or entertaining. I hope that you read to the end and enjoy it none the less.
If you go to a book store in many countries today and look at the "Top 10" you will often see several "self help" books scattered amongst the rest. Apparently you can think yourself thin, create your own good luck, or even learn to communicate with spirit guides and see the aura.
(At this juncture the author would like to note that he thinks that these things are all possible, but learning them from a paperback book is tantamount to tackling Mt. Everest with climbing boots made of butter, but I digress).
One can divide the books into several types, self help for work, for spiritual enlightenment, or to increase your luck, success and financial stability. But, can they really help us become successful, happy and achieve self-actualization as in Maslow's hierarchy of needs, or are these self help books just another cynical way to take money from people who need it more than the writer does.
What Does Happiness Mean to Me?
This can be difficult to define for many people. They are searching for an over reaching happiness in every aspect of their lives. This can be impossible to achieve, few people can hand on heart say that they are happy with every aspect of their lives.
What we need to remember is that happiness can come in small amounts, a cup of coffee, a cigarette, a large glass of red wine or a brilliant song on the radio.
It may come in five minutes packages, or it may be an event so large that you can't understand what is happening, a major life changing event like a baby, or a new job.
Of course, these things that can bring joy can also cause stress in equal amounts.
How Can I Make a Change in my Life?
I think that being depressed can be environmental, but genetics also of course play a massive role. Happiness can be achieved by empowering yourself to make choices, and through these choices you make in your life you create opportunities.
Happiness comes from the results, be that a smile, a cup of tea or something else. To get results you must first create opportunities. When you can see more and more results and happiness, you will want to create more opportunities.
I call this the "Zakmoonbeam Circular Theory of Happiness!" If you look at the picture below, I think it explains the circle easier than a wall of text.
But, if you have sudden and total control and can create your own happiness, what does it mean for religion? Is that why we need more books to become more spiritual? Why do we need God if we can just take what we want from life?
I created my theory of happiness in 10 minutes over a cup of coffee. I did this hub to see if I could shows how easy it can be to talk about something you know nothing about. Believe me when I say that I know NOTHING on psychology (although that may well be very apparent to some readers)!
It it important for me to say at this point that I think that religion has a big place in modern life, and I have my own strong beliefs. I feel it's sad how it is taking more and more a back seat in the upbringing of our families, and perhaps has had a dramatic impact on this generations morals.
But there are too many people that feel the need to write books about things they know little or nothing about, safe in the knowledge that people desperate for happiness, success and spiritual enlightenment will buy it and devour every word.
And that is dangerous.
If you want to strive for a better life and happiness, you can buy my new book I hope to publish in the next few weeks. It's called "Buy my book and help create happiness for you and me."
The first 25 pages are blank, so you can really help yourself!
