Just Who is Zakmoonbeam?
59I am unique. I am individual. I do not follow the crowds. I am occasionally controversial. I am many things, and perhaps something of a paradoxical enigma, or is that just what I want to believe I am?
History lesson incoming.
I was born in the mid 70's to a cockney mum, and a west London dad. For those who are not in the know, that means my mother was born into a working class family in the East End of London. Not that my father's family weren't working class, they were and still are, but the Cockney connection is something special to me.
By 1982 I was shipped into a boarding school to try to educate me to the point where my parents could start to live off of their investment. No pressure there then. They must have been so proud when I ended up as a mechanic rather than a solicitor or doctor.
So, they don't live off your earnings?
Not in the slightest. But the schooling I received did give me a lot of experiences, some good, some bad. A good education was indeed mine, as was the loss of my working class accent (not my fault I swear) which is something to this day I am trying to reclaim as my own.
So, what exactly do I do? I work in an iron foundry, I write online when time permits, and I am a full-time husband and new father to the most beautiful little girl in the world. I also study, and dabble in C++, web design and photography.
You can read a little about the long journey our first child took in the link below. Be warned, it's a tear-jerker!
Spare Time, What Spare Time ?
As well as a newly formed family, our dog takes a huge amount of our time! All worth it though I do declare!
Well, I am lucky in that I have an extremely understanding wife, who lets me indulge myself in my hobbies. I love to fish, when the ice melts anyway, I am a keen D.I.Y'er and have taken over running the family summer-house, and a compulsive video gamer, all genres, but especially MMO and Flight Simulations.
Of course, because of the new family member, I don't get the change to play as much as I used to, but the pros definitely out way the cons!
Below you can check out some of my Hubs on the video games I love to play when time permits.

Bump in the Night?
Ah yes, my other passion. The Paranormal. Having grown up experiencing phenomena since an early age, it had bordered on an obsession to eith prove or dissprove what I can, where I can. I have strong beliefs, but I would like to think that they don't cloud my judgement!
Either way, check out the links below where you can read a bit more about the most spectacular case in my opinion, a 3 parter on my personal experiences, and one that I am thankfull to catagorise as Urban legend.

Retro Gaming
I started playing games when I was 8 (long time ago)... I still love firing up the old Commodore 64 or Amiga, I think I must haven owned every console from the AtRI VCS also!
The links below might be fun if you like that sort of thing!
In conclusion
I hope that you have enjoyed some of my ramblings, 'tis but a potted history of me, but over time it might even grow to be worthy of these hallowed pages.
Peace and justice for all.

Quite ecclectic, I must say. I can relate with many of your experiences. I too was sent off to bordaing shool, though it was in Africa, I was 13 and I had to travel 3 days on a very gritty, sooty train, to be locked up in a Convent until it was time, (once a year), to travel back to what was then Rhodesia.
